How Do We Act?

Our work bridges immediate needs and long-term vision, helping movements remain adaptable while advancing toward a robust and reparative democracy.

Future Currents and our partners learn from, develop and test innovative strategies to counter urgent threats. We've explored different models of cross-organizational relationship, facilitating diverse voices, expertise, and strategic dispositions to move toward action plans; piloted educational curricula to strengthen democratic commitments; and supported organizers in rural communities facing a live authoritarian threat.

We also work with movement leaders and disrupters to analyze direct action not just as a strategic tool but as a portal into not-yet-known strategies, examining what makes dissent effective in building power and how to better respond to movement upsurges.
